I was diagnosed in December 2007 with Adenocarcinoma of the prostate presenting a PSA of 13.6, a Gleason of 4 + 4 = 8 and at the time of diagnosis a staging of T2c, N0, and M0.
I had a radical retropubic prostectomy in February 2008 and at the time of my operation my histopathology was described as "T2c margin negative peri neural invasion present". However three months later in May 2008 I presented a PSA of 2.3 rising and after more MRI scans I was re-staged after presenting a 15mm tumour in the right internal iliac lymph node.

After lengthy discussions with my Urologist Mohan Pillai and Oncolgist Omi Parik I agreed to receive pelvic radiotherapy of 45Gy in 25 fractions, which I completed in April 2009 and to start adjuvant hormone therapy (chemical castration) by the use of Zoladex implants every 3 months. My last implant was in January 2011.

I've found by sharing my cancer journey with others and by inviting in support I've managed my cancer journey much better.
